Castle Rock’s 2026 water workshops have ended; fall is a chance to plan the next landscape
Current town guidance points residents toward design resources while the 2027 workshop schedules are still to come.

If a lower-water yard is on your list, begin with planning rather than assuming a class or rebate is available today. Castle Rock’s conservation website says its 2026 Water Wiser and ColoradoScape design workshops have concluded, with residents asked to check back for the 2027 schedules.
The ColoradoScape section still links to a design guide, sample xeric layouts and plant-selection resources. Use those materials to develop questions about your own space: where does shade fall, which areas need access and how would a change affect irrigation? An attractive example is a starting point for discussion, not a plan automatically suited to every lot.

The town’s Water Wiser program has separate rules for first-time participants, current participants seeking renewal and expired designations. It also says overnight watering requirements remain in effect and that drought restrictions can affect program benefits. Confirm current requirements with water-conservation staff before changing a watering routine.
Make a small file of measurements, photographs and questions to revisit when new schedules appear. If financial assistance matters to your project, verify eligibility, application timing and available funding before buying materials or beginning removal. This fall’s useful accomplishment may be a clearer plan and fewer assumptions, leaving the construction decision for when the details are confirmed.
